Overview

NorthStar Financial partnered with Originl Systems to modernize its aging on-premises infrastructure and establish a secure cloud platform capable of supporting future business growth. The existing environment consisted of legacy servers, manual deployment processes, and fragmented monitoring, resulting in increasing operational costs and slower software delivery. Our objective was to design and implement a resilient cloud foundation that improved scalability, automated infrastructure management, and accelerated software delivery without disrupting business operations.

Challenge

Years of infrastructure growth had created a fragmented technology landscape with tightly coupled applications, manual deployment workflows, and limited operational visibility. Scaling infrastructure required significant manual effort while security and compliance requirements continued to increase. The organization needed a cloud platform that could improve reliability, reduce operational complexity, and provide a foundation for future digital transformation initiatives without impacting existing customer services.

Solution

We conducted a comprehensive infrastructure assessment to identify application dependencies, migration priorities, and operational risks. Based on the findings, we designed a phased cloud migration strategy that introduced Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes orchestration, automated CI/CD pipelines, centralized monitoring, and cloud governance. Workloads were migrated incrementally to minimize downtime while modern deployment practices improved consistency, security, and operational efficiency across the platform.

Results

The new cloud platform significantly improved deployment speed, infrastructure reliability, and operational visibility. Deployment pipelines became fully automated, monitoring was centralized, and engineering teams gained greater control over infrastructure management. Following the migration, the organization reduced infrastructure costs, improved application availability, and established a scalable cloud foundation capable of supporting continued business growth and future technology initiatives.
